EmbodiYoga, founded in 2002 by Lisa Clark, offers professional trainings, workshops and classes in Body-Mind Centering®, Yoga, Somatics and how the body-mind expresses itself.
The new Body-Mind Centering® & Yoga Immersion Series: Foundations in Embodied Anatomy is currently being offered in the United States by Lisa Clark through EmbodiYoga.
Body-Mind Centering® principles form the basis of a dynamic approach to the practice and teaching of yoga. Our Immersion Series are rooted in embodiment - the learning process takes place in the body-mind and the experience is integrated at the cellular level. These modules will enrich your yoga practice and give you new foundations and insight for working with others.
The Foundations in Embodied Anatomy immersion series is a deep, internal study of the body. Each module explores the practice of yoga through key principles of each of the body systems, embryology, somatic inquiry, embodied learning and language, asana, alignment and movement. Foundations in Embodied Anatomy opens a door to the transformative aspects of yoga and will take asanas from an external approach into the subtleties of yoga practice.
There are six modules in the immersion series. The full immersion offers an in-depth opportunity to explore relationships between fundamental principles of Body-Mind Centering® and those of yoga. Modules can also be taken be taken individually. The requirement for entry into the series is a personal movement practice and a basic familiarity with yoga asana. No prior experience with Body-Mind Centering® is necessary. All classes are taught in English.
The Foundations in Embodied Anatomy modules are as follows:
- Support & Container: Bones & Ligaments
- Contents & Relationships: Organs & Connective Tissue
- Process: Cells, Breath & Embryology
- Movement: Fluids & Muscles
- Homeostasis: Endocrine Tissues, Nerve & Immune Systems
- Synthesis: Diaphragms, Breath & Sound
