The fluids are the transportation system of the body. They underlie presence and transformation. They mediate the dynamics of flow between rest and activity, and the overall counterbalance of tension and relaxation. The characteristics of each fluid relate to a different quality of movement, touch, voice and consciousness. This course will explore the fluid system as a basis for embodying ourselves more fully. Classes will include Embodied Anatomy, Developmental Movement, and Embryology.
Classes will focus on:
- The major fluids of the body (cellular, interstitial and transitional fluids, blood, lymph, synovial fluid, and cerebrospinal fluid).
- Distinguishing the qualities of specific fluids through movement and touch.
Identifying the individual psychophysical characteristics of each of the fluids and their various combinations. - Gaining an awareness of your own fluid affinities and recognizing their embodiment expression in others.
Body-Mind Centering® principles applied to yoga expand our understanding and ability to embody, through which we can create a more unified life and practice for ourselves and others.
