Types of Programs

 

There are two categories of programs, Core Programs and Application Programs. Many courses may be taken individually (see Taking Individual Courses), with no prior experience in Body‑Mind Centering®. read more

The Educational Process

The uniqueness of Body‑Mind Centering® lies in the specificity with which each of the body systems can be personally embodied and integrated; the fundamental groundwork of developmental repatterning; the utilization of a body‑based language to describe movement and body‑mind relationships; and the almost unlimited number of areas of application of BMC. read more

Licensed Training Organizations

Approved Body-Mind Centering® programs are offered by licensed independent organizations using the curriculum developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen as well as her written materials. Graduates of these programs receive a certificate from the School for Body-Mind Centering®. read more

This program explores the richness of the relationship between body, mind, movement and touch in the context of our dynamic Embodied Anatomy and Embodied Developmental Movement approach to Somatic Movement Education. read more
Continuing on from the SME program, this program builds on the foundations of the Somatic Movement Education program and requires two additional years of study. Themes cover: deepening personal embodiment, achieving greater subtlety in touch and repatterning skills, addressing psychophysical aspects, assessing clients, learning therapeutic approaches and developing skills as a professional. read more
The greatest gifts we can give a child are a sense of physical and emotional well-being, a sense of comfort and bonding, the joy of being, curiosity, confidence, the ability to relate to others, and organization and problem solving skills. These are greatly influenced by the child’s early movement and touch learning experiences. read more
This program applies key principles of each of the body systems to the practice of yoga. Courses explore the asanas through the direct experience of our own body systems, tissues and cells. read more
This program teaches key developmental movement principles in relation to the practice of yoga. The courses in this program explore the movement responses that emerge and integrate through the first year of life and form the developmental base of yoga asanas. read more
